2nd Line Desk/Field Service Engineer

A rapidly growing MSP client is looking for a 2nd line desk/field service engineer to provide excellent IT support to a variety of clients and industries. This is a rare opportunity to start with an established company, on the ground floor within an entirely new branch. With no one in front of you, progression opportunities are there for the right person to take. No two days will be the same. A hybrid approach to field and desk work will be needed, and as the role and company evolves, the chance to specialise in either of these will be available.
A positive, flexible, and proactive approach will be integral to being successful in this position.
This is an all-round position where at first, a combination between field and desk work will be required. You will be providing 2nd Line technical assistance to a range of businesses of different sizes, across different industries while, also, acting as a point of escalation for 1st Line engineers, helping them with their understanding.
Furthermore, you will be assisting field engineers with your knowledge and experience and providing on-site support where required and researching and scoping a wide variety of projects, and then putting them into play.
• A full driving Licence (Access to a vehicle not required but beneficial).
• A minimum of two years of working on a support desk or in an IT role.
• Microsoft server environment and desktop environments.
• Microsoft Office 365.
• Virtualisation technologies such as HyperV and VMware.
• Network trouble shooting and diagnostics such as DNS, DHCP, VPN, NAT, Routers, Switches etc.
