Overview:
Quinton Davies is working on behalf of a well-established, large regional accountancy practice based in Oxfordshire who due to expansion are looking for a Senior Accountant / Portfolio Manager to join their Banbury team.

Ideally my client would like somebody to join who can hit the ground running and is coming from a similar role in another firm however, they will consider experienced and or qualified Seniors who would like to step up into a more managerial role.

Main Duties:
  • Providing guidance and support to junior team members
  • Review of management accounts, and VAT returns.
  • Preparing management accounts with more technical requirements
  • Preparation and review of annual statutory accounts and Corporation Tax returns
  • Preparation and review of self-assessment tax returns
  • Overseeing client deadlines and helping the team to prioritise their workload
  • Effectively managing client communication

Experience / Qualifications Required:
  • Qualified Accountant ACA/ACCA/QBE)
  • At least 5 years’ experience in practice
  • Has experience of UK GAAP FRS 105 and FRS 102
  • Has experience of sole trade, partnership and limited company accounts
  • Enthusiastic, with a can-do attitude and positive mindset
  • Possesses excellent attention to detail
  • Enjoys and sees the benefit in developing others

  • Completion of draft Corporation Tax returns, and tax/capital allowance computations.

  • Completion of self-assessment tax returns.

  • Ability to clearly communicate in person, over the telephone and via email.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while meeting deadlines.

Reporting directly to the Directors, you’ll be responsible for dealing with Statutory/Management Accounting and other related matters. This role also includes advising clients on business and taxation matters and generally looking for opportunities to add value and assist in their development.

Main Duties and responsibilities:
  • Preparation of Taxation Computations based on accounts prepared
  • Preparation of accurate Management Accounts on a timely basis

Quinton Davies is working on behalf of a well-established practice firm based in central London who are looking for a Senior Accountant.

Main Duties:
  • Record day to day financial transactions. This may include but not be limited to raising (or recording) sales invoices, recording purchase invoices and posting bank payments and receipts.
  • Ensure that transactions are recorded accurately and postings are reviewed in the general ledger.
  • Able to keep client records up to date on a timely basis. This would vary client to client and their own individual requirements.
  • Ensure bank reconciliations are performed which include current accounts as well as any petty cash and credit card accounts.
  • Be able to analyse debtor and creditor reports. Request missing information from clients and advise them of any overpayments they have made.
  • Be able to process invoices and make payments on the client’s behalf. Ensuring that invoices haven’t been provided previously to reduce risk of overpayments. Limit the risk of paying the wrong beneficiary by checking any bank templates against invoices received.
  • Agree timelines with clients in respect of when to receive information to completed bookkeeping and VAT returns. To be able to meet expected deadline for deliverables and able to deliver the VAT return in advance of the deadlines.

Experience / Qualifications Required:
  • AAT qualified or equivalent
  • At least 3 years’ experience working in an accountancy practice
