The daily stresses of office life are something that companies are often trying to minimise to ensure employees are feeling happy when at work. This in turn maximises not only employee satisfaction, but also quality of work.
Swedish researchers found that exercise at work can boost productivity. Short bursts of exercise don’t only help with mental clarity and benefit with the initial boost of serotonin, but is also said to reduce stress levels. In turn, less stress also leads to less illness and less time off from work.
Happiness in the workplace is not only about enjoying your job but also the various aspects that add to your job. The correct environment, being part of a supportive team and feeling respected or valued all add to your overall experience.
At Quinton Davies, we’ve made a real effort to make sure that the working environment of the office is a positive one. Each day we have high tempo music playing and reinvigorating smoothies; there is also the option to keep moving and work out. A normal day in the QD office will see whoever wishes to join in, complete short bursts of exercise to energise the mind and keep the team energised. There’s no need to sit at your desk all day! Being part of a supportive team also means that we’re excited to come into the office each day - and of course see what smoothie is on offer - some are better than others...!
