    Mixed Tax Senior Manager

    Role: Mixed Tax Senior Manager

    Location: Middlesex
    Salary: £75-90k

     

    Role Overview:
    As a Mixed Tax Senior Manager, you will be managing a broad range of tax services, consisting of mainly corporate and personal taxation. You will be responsible for overseeing a small team of tax professionals, managing client relationships, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and delivering proactive tax planning strategies to clients. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional looking to take on greater responsibility within a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage a portfolio of corporate, international, and personal tax clients, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and providing high-quality tax advice.

    • Lead and oversee the tax compliance process, including the preparation and review of tax returns and submissions.

    • Provide tax planning and advisory services to clients, helping them optimise tax structures and mitigate risks.

    • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing a responsive and proactive service.

    • Manage a small team, providing mentorship and guidance to junior staff.

    • Review and manage tax audits and disputes, representing clients before tax authorities when required.

    • Collaborate with other departments to provide integrated tax solutions to clients.

     

    Requirements:

    • ACA/ACCA/CTA (or equivalent) qualification.

    • At least 5-7 years of experience in tax, with a focus on corporate and personal tax.

    • Proven track record in managing a team and delivering excellent client service.

    • Strong technical knowledge of UK and international tax laws and regulations.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

    • A proactive, strategic thinker with the ability to solve complex tax issues.

    • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and tax software.

    Audit Manager

    Role: Audit Manager
    Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 plus benefits
    Location: London

    Overview:
    Quinton Davies is working on behalf of a large regional accountancy practice in London who are looking for an Audit Manager to join their West London office.


    The role will be split roughly Audit (75%) and Accounts (25%) and you’ll be working within a team of other managers.

    The role consists of handling a diversified portfolio of owner managed companies with turnovers of £1 million up to £100 million.

    The work will comprise both audit and accounting assignments. As a portfolio manager, the successful candidate will have full responsibility for running a portfolio of circa 50 clients, with annual fees in the region of £500,000 upwards.



    Main Duties and responsibilities:
    • Liaising with clients and managing client expectations.
    • Organising and running all accounting and audit assignments for the portfolio.
    • Supervising and reviewing staff output, primarily accounts for audit production.
    • Reporting directly to the partner and attending client meetings.
    • Reviewing accounts and corporation tax deliverables
    • Attendance and input to practice development initiatives including networking and new prospect / potential client proposals.
    • Working within an existing team of managers and partners to further develop and support the growth of the office and development of the team.

    Experience and Qualifications required:
    • ACA or ACCA qualified
    • Excellent knowledge of FRS102
    • Proven auditing technical skills
    • Good IT skills including Outlook, Excel, Word and Accounting packages
    • Experienced in managing the audit process from planning to completion of financial statements.
    • Working knowledge of Digita and Caseware is desirable.

    Senior Accountant

    Role: Senior Accountant
    Salary: £28,000 - £32,000
    Location: London

    Overview:
    Quinton Davies is working on behalf of a well-established practice firm based in central London who are looking for a Senior Accountant.

    Main Duties:
    • Record day to day financial transactions. This may include but not be limited to raising (or recording) sales invoices, recording purchase invoices and posting bank payments and receipts.
    • Ensure that transactions are recorded accurately and postings are reviewed in the general ledger.
    • Able to keep client records up to date on a timely basis. This would vary client to client and their own individual requirements.
    • Ensure bank reconciliations are performed which include current accounts as well as any petty cash and credit card accounts.
    • Be able to analyse debtor and creditor reports. Request missing information from clients and advise them of any overpayments they have made.
    • Be able to process invoices and make payments on the client’s behalf. Ensuring that invoices haven’t been provided previously to reduce risk of overpayments. Limit the risk of paying the wrong beneficiary by checking any bank templates against invoices received.
    • Agree timelines with clients in respect of when to receive information to completed bookkeeping and VAT returns. To be able to meet expected deadline for deliverables and able to deliver the VAT return in advance of the deadlines.

    Experience / Qualifications Required:
    • AAT qualified or equivalent
    • At least 3 years’ experience working in an accountancy practice
    • Accountancy packages such as Xero, Quickbooks, IRIS, SAPA and Sage Line 50

    Quinton Davies is working on behalf of a dynamic digital software and services company who are looking for a VAT Consultant for their Wakefield office.

    Our client is looking for an experienced VAT Consultant to join their rapidly growing VAT Consultancy team, specialising in providing complex VAT compliance and advisory services to NHS bodies as well as other organisations (private/public).


    Main Duties:
    • Undertaking periodic VAT reviews both on-site and remotely. With emphasis on detailed reporting of key steps within the review process.
    • Ensuring the compliance of our clients in relation to partial exemption.
    • Completing capital reviews either using banding or line-by-line calculations.
    • Influencing process changes within the VAT Consultancy team.
    • Generating new and managing existing relationships.
    • Influencing strategic decisions in respect of NHS SBS VAT Consultancy.
    • Assist clients to implement Making Tax Digital.
    • Training NHS bodies finance staff regarding NHS VAT.
    • Lead and facilitate routine VAT seminars to potential clients.
    • Prepare technical VAT documents and communications for clients.
    • Frequent travel to client sites for VAT work/meetings.

    Experience Required:
    • Experience of undertaking NHS VAT compliance reviews or experience working within an NHS finance role
    • Experience of completing an end-to-end combined business/non-business partial exemption calculation.
    • The ability to complete a capital review, either using banding or line by line.
    • Ability to present to a large number of people.
    • Good communication, coaching and presentation skills
    • Experience of tax technology.
    • An understanding of Making Tax Digital and what it means for NHS bodies and other organisations.
    • Be a very well organised individual, able to document and run a large number of tasks and processes.
    • Comprehensive experience of VAT.
