Role: Business Services Supervisor
Location: Bristol
Salary: £28-32k
Role Overview:
As an Accounts Senior, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, overseeing their accounting records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role within our firm and contribute to the success of both our clients and the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation and review of statutory accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients.
Manage external relationships and liaise with clients to understand their financial needs and requirements.
Oversee the preparation of management accounts, VAT returns, and other financial reports.
Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support.
Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts and tax returns.
Ensure deadlines are met and that all work is completed in accordance with internal procedures and external regulations.
Review and maintain accounting records, ensuring they are up to date and accurate.
Provide advice on tax and financial matters to clients as needed.
Assist in audits and other ad-hoc projects as required.
Skills and Experience:
AAT qualified and/or studying towards the ACA/ACCA.
Proven experience in an accounting or audit environment.
Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax regulations.
Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
Experience with accounting software packages (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks).
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to manage and mentor junior team members.
