    Role Overview
    Joining this firm as an Accounts Semi-Senior, you will be supporting the Seniors team members in managing client accounts and helping them navigate financial challenges. You will primarily be responsible for preparing statutory/management accounts, tax returns, bookkeeping, and other essential accounting duties. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to broaden their experience and take on more responsibility in a really supportive environment.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Preparation of statutory and management accounts

    • Handling client queries and providing support on accounting matters

    • Assisting in tax computations and returns

    • Bookkeeping, VAT returns, and other day-to-day financial tasks

    • Liaising with clients and maintaining strong relationships

    • Helping train and supervise junior staff when necessary

     

    Skills & Experience

    • AAT qualified and/or studying towards the ACA/ACCA or an equivalent qualification

    • Strong knowledge of UK accounting and tax regulations

    • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving

    • Experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)

    • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks

    Role

    • Processing payroll for a range of clients with weekly, fortnightly, four weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual payroll cycles

    • Manual calculation of Tax and NI

    • Calculating pay increases, overtime and bonuses

    • Calculating SMP, SSP etc.

    • Reporting to HMRC on behalf of clients and liaising regarding any queries

    • Auto-enrolment, pension assessments and uploads to pension provider

    • Responding to client queries

     

    About You

    • Previous experience of working within a payroll bureau

    • Good working knowledge of all areas of payroll (Calculating statutory payments, Auto-enrolment, Employment allowance) RTI and current HMRC reporting requirements

    • Excellent attention to detail

    • Logical, well organised with good time management skills

    • The ability to work well under pressure within a fast-paced working environment

    • Good IT skills and be able to confidently use Microsoft office and payroll software

    Quinton Davies are working on behalf of an established regional accountancy practice who are seeking to strengthen their team with the addition of a General Practice Supervisor or Manager for their Yeovil office.
     
    Main Duties and responsibilities:
    -Working with clients including owner-managed businesses, family businesses, large companies and charities across a variety of sectors, you will have responsibility for a varied portfolio.

    -Leading teams on annual audit fieldwork
    -Reviewing workpapers and accounts files prepared by staff
    -Reviewing corporation tax returns and computations
    -Reviewing VAT returns
    -It is crucial to deliver excellent client care – exceeding clients’ expectations.
    -People management responsibilities include resource planning and allocation, performance management, training and making recommendations for the internal rising star programme.

    Experience, qualification & skills required:
    -ACA/ACCA qualified.
    -Strong communication skills to work with colleagues across multiple sites.
    -Significant experience of delivering accounting services to a similar client base.
    -Audit experience is an advantage but not essential.
    -Proven ability in managing and developing staff i.e. coordinating staff projects, mentoring, appraising, and recruiting.
    -Marketing and Business Development experience – proven ability to identify and convert opportunities.

    Duties & Main Responsibilities:
    • Calculate and prepare month end management account adjustments and journals
    • Review work
    • Complete bank reconciliations and control accounts
    • Undertake VAT return preparation work
    • Provide cloud software training
    • Managing the sales and purchase ledgers”
    • Raise sales invoices and manage client sales ledgers
    • Enter purchase invoices and manage the supplier ledger 
       
    Experience, Attributes and Qualifications required:
    • AAT part or fully qualified
    • Possess knowledge or have experience of day to day bookkeeping and the processes involved
    • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to remain professional at all times
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook
    • Experience of using Xero, Quickbooks online or Sage 50 would be beneficial to your application, as would knowledge of purchase invoice automation software.

    Overview:
    Quinton Davies is working on behalf of an established accountancy practice in the Southwest who are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join their Bridgwater office.



    Main Duties and responsibilities:
    • To undertake bookkeeping for clients on various accounts packages i.e. Quickbooks, Xero and Sage.
    • Sales and purchase ledgers, bank & credit card reconciliations, payroll journals, VAT calculations and VAT returns. Helping clients with their own bookkeeping.
    • Process sales and purchase invoices on to the system. Complete and maintain up to date reconciliations.
    • Prepare VAT returns and liaise with clients in person, via email and by telephone.
    • To provide support to the accounts team with the preparation of accounting working papers to support the final accounts.
    • To support clients with software and bookkeeping queries.
    • Ensure that all data is on the system and as up to date and accurate as possible at all times through clear communication with the clients.
    • Manage the workload so that deadlines are met on time and clients to have access to real time information. Develop good working relationship with both colleagues and clients.

    Experience and Qualifications required:
    • QBE/AAT part or fully qualified
    • Comfortable working with figures, accurate and understand the significance of calculations
    • Good written and oral communication skills
    • Experience in a professional services environment or an accountancy practice would be highly desirable
