    Audit & Accounts Associate

    Role: Audit and Accounts Associate

    Location: Swindon

    Salary: £24-28k

     

    Overview:

    Due to yet more sustained growth within my clients Swindon office, they are seeking to recruit an Audit and Accounts Associate to assist the team in delivery of statutory audit and accounts preparation services. The work will be approximately audit 50% and accounts 50% with an equal emphasis on the Charity/Not-for-Profit sector alongside the commercial or general practice side of things.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assistance in the delivery of audit/accounts assignments for Charity and Not-For-

    • Profit sector, Limited Companies (including groups), Sole Traders and Partnerships

    • from both balanced systems including cloud-based software and incomplete records

    • Preparing draft corporation tax and business tax computations including supporting analysis

    • Delivering information and communicate with clients in a timely and effective manner

    • Assisting on ad-hoc project work

     

    Skills and Experience:

    • ACA/ACCA trainee with at least 2 years of practice experience (qualification by experience will be considered)

    • Experience in the charity and Not-for-Profit sector or a desire to learn and become involved in this sector

    • Ability to multitask and prioritise several jobs, whilst demonstrating excellent time management skills to ensure all deadlines and expectations are met

    • Ideally, experience assisting on audits including; planning, preparation and completion (training will also be provided)

    • Display a working knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards and International Standards for Auditing

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Strong analytical skills with good attention to detail

    • Display commercial awareness

    VAT Accountant

    Quinton Davies is proud to partner with Wishford Education to recruit a talented VAT Accountant for this rapidly growing group of independent schools, nurseries, and day care providers.

     

    This is a key role where you’ll play a pivotal part in establishing VAT accounting across the group. Reporting to the Finance Director, you’ll provide critical expertise and guidance to ensure compliance, streamline processes, and maximise VAT recovery opportunities.

     

    Your Key Responsibilities:

     

    • Lead the VAT implementation process, including group registration and compliance.

    • Oversee the setup of finance systems, ensuring efficiency and training users where needed.

    • Provide expert guidance on VAT treatment, transaction accuracy, and legislative changes.

    • Manage VAT returns for the group, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.

    • Advise on VAT recovery restrictions and identify opportunities for process improvement.

    • Qualified accountant with a strong understanding of VAT, including partial exemptions.

    • Proven ability to work under pressure, with exceptional attention to detail.

    Quinton Davies is working on behalf of a multi-office regional accountancy practice firm who are looking for a Client Portfolio Manager to join their successful Swindon team. 


    Main Duties:
    • Assisting with the onboarding of new clients to ensure that they have friendly contact and get them off on the right step to excellent support.
    • Building deep, long standing relationships with clients.
    • Working with the wider team to ensure plans are implemented.
    • Look for opportunities with clients to improve processes and business opportunities.
    • Working alongside the professional support network alongside clients to help the client achieve their rounded business and future goals, supporting them as a business partner.
    • Reviewing of financial information with clients but using in a way which focuses on both tax management/planning as well as future growth opportunities.
    • Building robust forecasting models and challenging clients to use this and interact as the
      business grows and develop.
    Experience / Qualifications Required:
    • CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified with a track record in a practice environment.
    • Detailed experience of preparing and being involved in the review of both personal and business accounts and tax planning.

    Accounts Assistant

    Role: Accounts Assistant
    Salary: £17,000-19,500

    Overview:
    Quinton Davies is working on behalf of a well-established independent practice firm based in Chippenham who are looking for an Accounts Assistant.

    Main Duties:
    • Preparation of annual accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders from manual and computerised records.
    • Prepare corporation tax returns and business tax computations.
    • Prepare basic personal tax returns.
    • Prepare VAT returns.
    • Undertake general bookkeeping duties on behalf of clients.
    • These duties may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the role or the level of responsibility entailed.

    Experience / Qualifications Required:
    • AAT part or fully qualified (study support can be provided for those still studying or who wish to go onto further advanced qualifications).  
    • At least 2 years’ experience working within a busy Practice is a MUST.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook.
    • Good knowledge or experience of using modern software packages such as Xero, Quickbooks & IRIS is desirable but training can be provided.
    • Able to organise and manage time efficiently and effectively.
