Client Manager

Role: Client Manager (General Practice – Non-Audit)
Salary: £45-55k DOE
Location: Cheltenham

Overview:
My client is an established accountancy firm based in Gloucestershire who are seeking to recruit a Client Manager to join their growing Cheltenham team. 
  
Duties:

  • Be responsible for a portfolio of mainly corporate (non-audit) clients 

  • Assist clients to have meaningful financial information at their fingertips 

  • Get involved in project work for clients including: advice on accounting systems and controls, assistance with fund raising, business planning advice

  • Build and maintain good relationships with clients, becoming the first point of contact for most issues that arise 

  • Mentor and assist with the development of staff, including involvement in training and appraisals 

  • Help create a vibrant working environment, where individual talent can thrive, within a dynamic team framework, where everyone works towards a common goal. 

  • Review and appraise internal working practices, identifying areas where efficiency improvements can be made.
     

Qualifications & Experienced Required:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified, with experience of both corporate and non-corporate clients 

  • Proven track record of client management 

  • Experience of motivating a team to deliver results and developing staff to achieve their potential 

  • Fantastic analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Attention to detail is a must, as well as your communication skills, both written and oral 

  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Xero and Sage.

This is a key role where you’ll play a pivotal part in enhancing Finance Systems and Data across the group. Reporting to the Finance Director, you’ll provide critical support investigating the current state of systems and data, seeking full utilisation of current landscape before investigating enhancements across the board. 

 

Your Key Responsibilities:

Full Time or Part Time (minimum of 3 days per week if part time) 

Salary from £35,000 to £38,000

 

My client is an established firm of accountants based in Dorset who are looking for somebody to start asap and finish after the busy period is complete at the end of January. 

 

The key responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Completing accounts from incomplete records to high quality trial balance stage within budgets.

  • Resolving issues arising on book-keeping systems via a strong understanding of double-entry book-keeping.

  • Advising clients on best practice of book-keeping and use of emerging systems/tools.

  • Implementation of new cloud-based book-keeping systems for clients including advice and use of both best practice, and new tools available (and continuing to monitor the landscape as it continues to develop).

  • Have experience of Xero, TaxCalc, VT and Excel - and have a good knowledge of emerging book-keeping technology/MTD, and other generic cloud-based book-keeping systems.

  • To prepare year end accounts for sole-traders, partnerships and limited companies.

  • Completion of draft Corporation Tax returns, and tax/capital allowance computations.

  • Completion of self-assessment tax returns.

  • Ability to clearly communicate in person, over the telephone and via email.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while meeting deadlines.
